Off-Site Volunteering
Off-site volunteering with AOG allows individuals to make a meaningful impact from home by assembling kits based on provided guidelines.
Please read over the instructions below carefully to ensure that you can receive verification of your volunteer hours and that our clients receive the best quality kits.
The first ten kits are worth 2 volunteer hours each, and additional kits are worth 1 hour each (for example, 15 kits = 25 volunteer hours)

Volunteering FAQ
- Each kit must contain all the needed elements to receive hours. No credit will be offered for incomplete kits, but you will have the opportunity to provide all the required items to receive full credit.
- All elements in the kits must be new and unopened.
- Each kit must be in ONE bag and the bag should be able to close.
- DO NOT overfill your bags. If all the items do not fit, please use a bigger bag.
- DO NOT include glass or perishable items (nothing that requires refrigeration or that could go bad).
Drop-off and Verification:
- Take a photo when your kits are complete.
- Bring your completed kits to the food pantry at 4411 Jacque Street, Richmond, VA 23230, and ring the doorbell. We’ll meet you there! Drop-off hours are between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. *Drop-offs are not accepted on Tuesdays.
- Do not leave your kits outside; they will not be eligible for volunteer hours.
- Submit your information, including a photo of your kits here.
- It may take up to 72 hours after submitting your form to receive a letter verifying your volunteer hours.
- Your first 10 kits will be eligible for 2 hours each, any additional kits will be worth 1 hour. For example: 15 breakfast kits = 25 hours.
